Privacy Policy
Introduction
Dream Book ("the App") is developed and operated by Philipp Gross Apps ("we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what rights users have regarding their data. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Data We Collect
Dream Book does not require user accounts and does not collect names, email addresses, or passwords. We may collect and store the following data:
Device Identifier
A device‑specific identifier used to associate app data, credit balance, and purchases with a specific device. This identifier is not linked to your real‑world identity.
Dream Text and Conversations
Text entries voluntarily submitted by the user for dream interpretation, plus follow‑up messages sent within a dream interpretation session. Users can delete dream history directly in the App at any time.
Purchase and Transaction Data
Information related to in‑app purchases, including transaction identifiers, purchase status, and subscription details. Actual payment instruments are handled by Apple or Google — we never see your card details.
Credit Balance and Usage
Current credit balance and records of credit usage within the App.
Analytics and Diagnostics Data
Anonymous usage data such as screen views, feature interactions, and app events (collected via Firebase Analytics). Crash reports and performance diagnostics (collected via Firebase Crashlytics), which may include device model, OS version, and app state at the time of a crash.
Sensitive Personal Information
Dream Book does not collect health data, biometric data, precise geolocation, financial account information, government IDs, race or ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, or any other category Apple or California law defines as "sensitive personal information".
How We Use Data
We use collected data solely to: provide core app functionality including dream interpretation; process dream text through third‑party services to generate interpretations; process and validate in‑app purchases via Google Play Billing and Apple In‑App Purchase; maintain credit balances and subscription status; restore unfinished purchases; analyze app usage and improve the user experience (via Firebase Analytics); monitor app stability and fix issues (via Firebase Crashlytics); enable deletion of user data upon request.
Lawful Basis for Processing (GDPR)
For users in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, our lawful bases under GDPR Article 6 are:
- Performance of a contract (Art 6(1)(b)) — providing the App, processing in‑app purchases, delivering interpretations you request.
- Legitimate interest (Art 6(1)(f)) — improving the App via anonymous analytics and stability via crash diagnostics, where this interest is not overridden by your fundamental rights.
- Consent (Art 6(1)(a)) — for any feature that asks for explicit opt‑in (for example, marketing notifications). You can withdraw consent at any time.
Third‑Party Services
AI Processing (OpenAI)
When you submit a dream for interpretation, your dream text and follow‑up messages are sent to OpenAI's API for processing. We do not send any personally identifiable information (such as your name or device ID) to OpenAI — only the dream text and conversation context. Per OpenAI's API data policy, prompts sent through the API are not used to train OpenAI's models. OpenAI's privacy policy is available at openai.com/policies/privacy-policy.
Google Play Billing (Android)
In‑app purchases on Android are processed through Google Play Billing. Google may collect transaction and payment data in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.
Apple In‑App Purchase (iOS)
In‑app purchases on iOS are processed through Apple's In‑App Purchase system. Apple may collect transaction and payment data in accordance with Apple's Privacy Policy.
Firebase Analytics (Google)
We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous usage data. Firebase Analytics may collect device identifiers, IP addresses (for geolocation at the country level), and app interaction data. Google's Privacy Policy applies: policies.google.com/privacy.
Firebase Crashlytics (Google)
We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports and performance diagnostics. No personal content (such as dream text) is included in crash reports.
App Tracking Transparency
Dream Book does not track you across apps and websites owned by other companies. We do not link your data with third‑party data for advertising purposes, and we do not share device identifiers with data brokers or advertising networks. Because Dream Book does not engage in tracking as defined by Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework, the App does not present the App Tracking Transparency permission prompt.
Data Storage and Security
Data is stored on secure servers operated by trusted infrastructure providers. Reasonable technical and organizational measures are used to protect data from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No sensitive personal data (such as real names or contact details) is required to use the App.
Data Sharing
We do not sell or rent user data. Data is shared with third parties only as described in the "Third‑Party Services" section above: OpenAI (dream text for interpretation), Google Play / Apple (transaction data for purchase processing), Firebase/Google (anonymous analytics and crash diagnostics), and as required for compliance with lawful requests from authorities.
Data Retention
User data is retained only as long as necessary to provide app functionality. Dream history can be deleted directly by the user in the App. Other data is retained until a deletion request is submitted. Anonymized analytics may be retained indefinitely.
Your Rights
If you are in the EU / UK (GDPR)
You have the right to: access your personal data; request rectification of inaccurate data; request erasure ("right to be forgotten"); restrict or object to processing; data portability (where applicable); withdraw consent for any processing based on consent; lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority. To exercise any of these rights, email philgrossapps@gmail.com with your Device ID.
If you are in California (CCPA / CPRA)
You have the right to: know what personal information we collect about you; access and obtain a copy; delete your personal information; correct inaccurate personal information; opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information — note that we do not sell or share personal information for cross‑context behavioural advertising; non‑discrimination for exercising your rights. To exercise these rights, email philgrossapps@gmail.com with your Device ID.
Data Deletion
Users have the right to delete their account and all associated data at any time.
Option 1: In the App (recommended)
Open Dream Book → Profile → Delete Account → Confirm deletion. All data is deleted immediately and permanently.
Option 2: Via Email
If you are unable to access the App, send an email to philgrossapps@gmail.com including: App name (Dream Book), your Device ID (found in Profile), and a request to delete your data. Email requests are processed within 7 days.
What Happens After Deletion
All data associated with your account will be permanently deleted, including dream history, credit balance, purchase records, and profile data. Your subscription remains active and can be restored via Restore Purchases. To cancel it, manage it in your device's subscription settings. Data deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Some transaction records may be retained if required by law.
Children's Privacy
Dream Book is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe that a child has provided data, please contact us so it can be deleted.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any material changes will be communicated by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, by an in‑app notice. Continued use of the App after changes means acceptance of the updated policy.
